Option 1 - JJ Byrne Playground (aka Washington Park):

You can take Shinobu to the JJ Byrne Playground and then go eat within walking distance nearby. To get to the playground, just put the Stone Park Cafe address into your GPS: 324 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215. It’s about a 15 minute drive from Kaoru’s apartment

Option 2 - Prospect Park Zoo:

Shinobu enjoys Prospect Park Zoo, which is about a 10 min drive from Kaoru’s. There should be parking available along Flatbush Avenue. We have membership to this zoo (see below for details). Kaoru should have a membership card in the house somewhere. If not, I’ve emailed you a copy of the membership card and included the information below, which you can show at the entrance.

OPTION 3 - Jane’s Carousel:

Jane’s Carousel is a beautiful merry-go-round in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The carousel is right along the water so the scenery is beautiful and there’s a large grassy area and a park nearby. There are also restaurants along the waterfront. In general, it’s very relaxing and you can all meander around the area at your leisure. To get there takes a little bit more effort than the other two options, but I think it’s worth it if it’s a nice day. The drive is about 15-17 min. You may find street parking, but if you don’t, there are some Park Kwik parking lots in the area which I’ve listed below.

Jane’s Carousel
Old Dock St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Note: The carousel costs $2, so try and bring cash.

SUGGESTED PLACES TO EAT:
There seems to be a few things on the waterfront right nearby the carousel, but if you don’t see something you like, you can try...

Juliana’s Pizza (apprx. 4 min walk from the carousel)
https://julianaspizza.com/
19 Old Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

One Girl Cookies (apprx. 3 min walk from the carousel)
https://onegirlcookies.com/location/dumbo/
33 Main St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

NOTE: This is for dessert only. You can get cookies, cupcakes and whoopie pies here. Shinobu, as we all know, LOVES sweets.

PARKING LOTS:
Park Kwik (This one seems the closest to Jane’s Carousel)
37 Front St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Park Kwik (This is another Park Kwik about half a block further away from Jane’s Carousel)
66 Front St, Brooklyn, NY 11201
